The Department of Computer Science & Information Engineering stays informed on new trends in information processing and management so that we can predict future industry needs and prepare our students to meet them. The curriculum features and future development of the department are outlined below.

Curriculum Features

1.      Strengthen students’ level of competence in designing integrated circuits

Our new, cutting-edge Electronic Design Automation (EDA) lab will allow students specify in the field of hardware design to develop competence in the newest techniques and hardware of integrated circuit design. Our strong connection with alumni worked in the Central Taiwan Science Park will enable us to provide this important connection to our graduates.

2.      Incorporate biological technology with information technology

Biological technology will continue to lead Taiwan to the forefront of industrial achievement. Providence graduates will be leaders in the field because we have united research teams in the areas of biological and information technology in our classrooms so they will be pioneers teamwork in this field. 

3.      Developing network multimedia applications

As we continue to develop network applications, our focus will be on digital image processing, computerized visual effects, voiceover IP, digitalized albums, parallel algorithms, and grid computing.
