Providence University Participates in the "Higher Education Summit and Education Expo," Actively Recruiting Outstanding Indian Students

Providence University participated in the "Higher Education Summit and Education Expo," actively seeking to expand opportunities for Indian students to study in Taiwan.

This delegation focused on the transformation and development of the global higher education ecosystem, attracting over 1,000 education representatives and experts from India and around the world, showcasing Taiwan's active achievements in internationalizing higher education.

The delegation was led by Wang Wei-chung, Director of the Taiwan Chinese Language Education Center at National Tsing Hua University.

Participating institutions included National Tsing Hua University, National Kaohsiung Normal University, National Huwei University of Science and Technology, National Ilan University, National Chi Nan University, Tamkang University, and other universities, totaling 10 higher education institutions.

Taiwan is internationally renowned for its semiconductor industry, which aligns with India's tech industry development policies, becoming one of the key advantages for recruitment at this event.

Additionally, many programs offer courses in Chinese, allowing students to gain professional knowledge while improving their language skills.

These two features have become major incentives for attracting Indian students to study in Taiwan. Khire Rushikesh Ulhas, Senior Manager of International Student Recruitment at Providence University, shared his personal experience.

He came to Taiwan for studies in 2007 and was impressed by the emphasis on research and critical thinking in Taiwan’s education system, which went beyond traditional rote learning. The learning process was enlightening.

After graduating, he chose to stay in Taiwan and began working at Providence University in 2018. Returning to his hometown for the expo, he hopes to encourage more Indian students to seize the opportunity to benefit from Taiwan's high-quality education and international learning environment.

Currently, approximately 100,000 international students study in Taiwan each year, but only about 3,000 are from India.

The Taiwanese delegation hopes that through this higher education expo, more young people in India will learn about Taiwan’s rich educational resources and academic opportunities, attracting more outstanding Indian students to pursue further studies in Taiwan and promoting greater higher education exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and India.
