Providence University President Leads Delegation to Visit Sister Universities in Korea to Deepen International Cooperation and Academic Exchange
To expand international exchanges and deepen cooperation with its sister schools, Providence University President, Dr. Lin Sih-Ling, led a delegation to South Korea from May 22 to 26, 2025. The visit included meetings with long-term partner institutions: Catholic University of Busan, Hannam University, Catholic University of Daegu, and The Catholic University of Korea.
The main goal of the trip was to strengthen existing partnerships, foster bilateral academic exchanges, and enhance student mobility programs. Specific discussions were held on various future cooperation models, including faculty joint teaching, cross-institutional research projects, and summer exchange programs. As a result, the delegation signed memoranda of understanding and student exchange agreements.
During the visit, President Lin commended the four universities for their success in international student recruitment and global education. She expressed hopes to further promote dual degree programs and additional collaborative courses between the institutions. The meetings with university leaders, vice presidents, and international directors from the four South Korean universities effectively deepened the partnership and expanded opportunities for multilateral exchanges, responding to educational trends and student needs.
Providence University is committed to actualizing its vision of internationalization and, in collaboration with its sister schools, aims to cultivate the next generation of globally competent talent. In August 2025, Providence University will host the ASEACCU (Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities) annual meeting and sincerely invites its sister universities from South Korea to join in sharing higher education internationalization experiences and jointly nurturing world-class talent.
