13 Taiwanese University Students Receive Certificates After One-Year Internship at Hanamaki Onsen, Iwate, Japan

Thirteen Taiwanese university students who came to Iwate Prefecture, Japan for an internship attended a completion ceremony on June 16 at Hanamaki Onsen in Hanamaki City, marking the end of their approximately one-year hands-on training program.

Since 2023, Hanamaki Onsen has been accepting university students from Taiwan who are studying Japanese for internship opportunities.

In 2024, 13 students arrived in July and have since been engaged in on-site training in the hospitality industry, including front desk duties and guest room services.

During the ceremony on the 16th, each student received a certificate of completion, followed by a speech in Japanese from student representatives expressing their gratitude.

Wei-Chun Chen said:
"Through my daily work, I learned the importance of customer service, the spirit of Japanese hospitality, and the value of working as a team."

Yung-Chieh Chen said:
"I want to continue working in the service industry after returning to Taiwan. I truly learned a lot from this experience."

Wan-Chi Sung said:
"I want to combine Taiwanese and Japanese etiquette in my future work."

Hanamaki Onsen is planning to accept another group of 15 Taiwanese university students for internships in 2025.
