Tokyo Keizai University (TKU) Exchange Group Visits Providence University ——Taichung Exploration Tour: Learning about Taiwanese Culture and Society through Fieldwork and Multimedia Creation
Providence University recently warmly welcomed the exchange group from Tokyo Keizai University (TKU), Japan. This visit aims to promote international exchange between the two universities and provide Japanese students with an in-depth experience of Taiwan’s natural landscapes, urban culture, and diverse lifestyles.
The itinerary included a visit to Gaomei Wetlands, allowing students to experience one of Taichung’s most representative ecological sites. They also participated in a city exploration tour, gaining insights into the local culture and historical background of Taichung. The group also visited Taichung night markets to experience the lively atmosphere and enjoy a variety of local street foods.
On campus, participants engaged in VR immersive experiences, exploring Taiwan’s diverse culture and campus features through virtual reality technology, enhancing interactive learning. In addition, a specialized workshop was organized, where students conducted fieldwork and created multimedia projects, sharing their perspectives on learning and daily life, further deepening mutual understanding and cultural exchange.
This exchange activity demonstrates Providence University’s active commitment to international education and provides a valuable platform for cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration between Taiwanese and Japanese youth.
