Providence University Hosts Visit from Fukushima University to Strengthen Academic and Cultural Exchange
Providence University welcomed a delegation from Fukushima University, led by Professor Yoshitaka Takagai and Deputy Director Min He, for a one-day exchange visit. The purpose of the visit was to further enhance academic collaboration and international exchange between the two universities, while exploring future joint learning programs and student exchange opportunities.
On the day of the visit, the guests from Fukushima University engaged in lively exchange activities at Providence University’s Main Building and campus. The event was hosted by Dr. Peili Lin, the Director of the Office of International Affairs, and was followed by presentations from deans and department heads, introducing the features and strengths of their respective faculties. The visit concluded with a group photo and the exchange of souvenirs, setting the tone for a warm and friendly collaboration.
During the campus tour, the guests visited Providence University’s library and the Main Chapel, gaining a deeper understanding of the university’s history and culture. After lunch, the delegation toured the School of Science, where they visited the Department of Food and Nutrition, the Department of Applied Chemistry, and the Department of Cosmetic Science. They also had discussions with students, sharing academic achievements and research experiences.
This visit not only deepened the academic understanding and friendship between the two universities but also laid the foundation for future short-term visits and student exchange programs. Professor Yoshitaka Takagai from Fukushima University expressed interest in sending graduate students (Master’s or PhD) to Providence University for short-term academic exchanges after April 2026. The collaborative programs between the two universities will further promote bilateral academic and cultural exchange, enhancing students’ global perspectives and research capabilities.
