Introduction

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences was established in 2004. The college is comprised of six departments, one institute and one center which includes the Department of Chinese Literature with M.A., the Department of Taiwanese Literature with M.A., the Department of Ecology with M.A., the Department of Social Work and Child Welfare with M.A., the Department of Law, the Department of Mass Communication with M. A., the Graduate Institute of Education and Center for Teacher Education, and the Taiwan Studies Center.

Over the years, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences has taken full advantages of the multi-elements of these departments. In order to enhance as well as broaden students’ cultural horizon, we have devoted in upgrading the literacy of modern civil society to reflect Catholic spirit in schools in the hope of cultivating moral and virtuous intellectuals to be mainstay the mainstay of the society. Each department updates pragmatic professional courses and programs in response to meet the demands of the changing of different eras in our society.
