Introduction

Based on green industry and sustainable development of the earth, the College of Science adheres to educational ideas of student-centered learning. Heading for laying a solid foundation and further following academic circles and the development trends of industries at home or abroad, we equip students with concepts of industry internationalization and employability and competitiveness. Integrating interdisciplinary teachers’ teams, we actively promote concepts of greening, carbon reduction, and even zero carbon, attempting to implement energy saving and carbon reduction, and increase students’ future employability and competitiveness. The concepts of green industry are employed in finance and computation, statistics, chemistry, research and production of food and cosmetics.

The College includes the Department of Financial and Computational Mathematics with M.A. Program, the Department of Applied Chemistry with M.A. and Ph.D. Programs, the Department of Food and Nutrition with M.A. and Ph.D. Programs, the Department of Cosmetic Science with M.A. Program and Continuing Education Program, and the Department of Statistics and Informatics Science. Owning complete schooling, we foster professionals in science, mathematics, and statistics, putting an emphasis on basic science and relevant applications and cultivating students’ individual thinking and creativity. Our educational goals are to provide complete professional training, emphasize both theories and practices, cultivate interdisciplinary-integrated ability, and lay stress on service and work ethics. Students are equipped with interdisciplinary professional core competency. With Catholic concept of caring for people, students with scientific spirit are concerned about the society. We cultivate professionals with knowledge in green industry and sustainable development of the earth.
